What does this mean? We are running at redcuced capacity and only limited equipment such as DIY hire only will be available. Communications maybe heavily delayed and DIY self collections will be likely.

  • How do I book?
    To book or get a quote fill out a form on our website, you will need to itemise in the description box the equipment or services you require. If you don’t know what you want then let us know and we can help & often phone you! Need to book urgently? Phone call immediately. You will hopefully hear from us by 10pm on the day you book unless it's a weekend. We can take upto 3 days to reply however so if you need to chase use up, send another booking or text, Facebook, Instagram or call and we’ll get onto it! Don’t hear back from us? Chase it up after 3 days please!
  • Where is the pickup?
    To keep your costs down, we're operating from home at a private residential address on Waimairi Rd, ilam Christchurch
  • When will I hear back from you? When should I call?
    Ben works elsewhere the first half of the day then it’s Party Hire in the afternoon.
  • Hire periods?
    Before we start we are really lenient 😀 Hire periods officially start from your collection appointment time and go to 11am the following day of your selected nights hire. Apart from Friday night hires all other hires are usually not required from us to be returned until the start of the working week outside of work business hours ‘few!’ This will be explained on collection Weekend Hire: A weekend hire is from Friday/Thursday evenings to Monday night. The price for a weekend hire is calculated at the overnight hire price +40%
  • What if my events a day event?
    Weekend dates must request this when booking so we can guarantee our equipment availability from hires the night before If your event starts before 12pm on a Saturday you will need to book a 'Weekend Hire" Weekend Hire: A weekend hire is from Friday/Thursday evenings to Monday night. The price for a weekend hire is calculated at the overnight hire price +40%
  • When can I collect the equipment?
    An appointment must be made no earlier than 2 days prior to your hire. Weekday hires: 4pm - 9pm the day before Saturday night Hires: 12pm + Saturday. HOWEVER: Should our equipment be available the Friday night before we might ask you to collect it a day early from 4pm - 9pm for free! This is not Guaranteed. To guarantee an early collection you will need to book a 'Weekend Hire' (Sometimes we can negotiate earlier or later collection times. Sometimes free & sometimes with a fee depending on our other work commitments)
  • When do I return the equipment?
    Friday Night Hires: Before 12pm the next day Saturday Night Hires: Before Monday 9pm (Sunday before 3pm if Monday is a public holiday) Weekend Hires: Monday before 9pm All other days: The next day
  • Can I collect the day before?
    To take stress of everyones shoulders we always try to get hire collections done the day before the hire when we can at no extra cost (we unfortunately can’t guarantee this til 2 days prior to the hire. To confirm an early collection you can pay a 2nd night hire rate of 40% off the first nights hire.
  • What is the payment policy?
    Payment must be made in FULL prior to your collection via online banking only. Your booking is confirmed when either you have paid a 20% deposit or the full amount. Note: 20% of the full payment Is a non-refundable deposit. Should you cancel for any reason 20% of the full amount is forfeited to Party Hire.
  • Is there a bond?
    Depending on the nature of the event a bond is usually not needed.
  • Can I hire for tonight?
    Yes. Operating from home it’s usually pretty easy for us to sort last minute bookings, Submit a booking online then call Ben immediately after to confirm the booking.
  • What is a 'weekend hire'?
    Weekend Hire: Should you need equipment for the whole weekend for your event we have weekend hire rates available which means you can have the equipment from Thursday night all the way through to Monday night. The cost of this is 1x nights hire cost +40%. (Example. $100 Speaker hire for 1x night + 40% extra = $140, a weekend hire)


7 days / 9am - 9pm
Note, most admin work and phone calls are able to take place in the evenings. Although we're always on call, emails & other contact are often not responded to during the weekends unless it's seen as being urgent
